Leilah, who lives in Kyabakuza, is one of five children in a family facing food insecurity and the daily challenge of making ends meet. Her father relies on casual farm work in other people’s gardens, but the irregular income sometimes means missed meals and interrupted schooling. The family lives together in a small rented space with little room or privacy. Yet Leilah remains compassionate and hopeful, always looking out for those around her. She loves cycling, singing, dancing, swimming, and telling stories and dreams of becoming a doctor one day.
