Alex’s father has been diagnosed with cancer and is now bedridden, leaving his mother to work hard to support the family while much of what they earn goes toward his medical care. With little left for other needs, continuing school has been difficult for Alex. Yet he remains cheerful and caring, enjoying soccer, dancing, and going to church. Alex dreams of becoming a farmer one day.
