A Change of Heart

A Change of Heart

Faith* was frustrated after two years of no schooling due to COVID. She refused to return to school, declaring, “I will not go back.” It seemed she was destined for an early marriage and to become a very young mom. Dedicated staff fought for her to persevere and see her schooling through. After many tears and the moving of the Holy Spirit, she reconsidered and went back to school for her last year of secondary education. During that year, Faith gave her life to Christ at a Hope Alive! event. Since then, there’s been noticeable change in her life and attitude. Completing her secondary degree has given her a brighter future on earth; giving her life to Christ has given her hope for eternity! Welcome to the family, Faith!

Faith was enrolled in Hope Alive! in 2006, thanks to a generous sponsor. Her journey has been difficult. As a child, she walked over six miles every day to school and back in the heat or rain. She was unable to study after the sun set, since her home did not have electricity. She shielded herself from hurt by acting proud and arrogant, wearing a hard exterior. She was disrespectful to her family, school teachers and, even, to her mentor. Despite her harshness, Hope Alive! staff sought to reach her with God’s kindness that leads to repentance. After seeing God’s faithfulness surrounding her, relentlessly pursuing her, she gave her life to Christ. She has become humble, polite, respectful and open to share about her past experiences as a testimony. She now enjoys fellowship with born again Christians and is part of the praise and worship team at her church.

Faith recently completed level four of secondary school and is now pursuing an associates degree equivalent in Catering and Hotel Management. Faith’s eternal destiny has changed and her life circumstances are slowly but surely changing as well.

Pray for Faith as she walks the path God has set before her. Give praise as she lives out a changed life!
