A Special Delivery
Our students in Kyabakuza were delighted to receive a new pair of shoes. Like many other children in Uganda, most of our young students did not have a decent pair of shoes. Many children in Uganda are forced to walk, visit hospitals, attend school and go to playgrounds barefoot because their parents cannot afford to buy them a pair of shoes.
This has exposed many children to diseases like tetanus, jiggers (a parasitic flea common in tropical areas) and hookworms. Others endure painful injuries or deep cuts that get infected. It is painful to watch a child miss out on education because they couldn’t afford a pair of shoes, which has become a part of school requirements over the years.
We are so thankful to our sponsors and donors that gave toward the shoes. Our students are now happy and healthy because of your generous giving!
