California Kids Raise Funds for Books for Hope Alive!

Thanks to some caring kids in California, Hope Alive! students will soon have books of their very own to take home. Centerpoint Community Church in Roseville, California is a long-time supporter of Hope Alive!, and each year their High Five (VBS) holds a fundraising challenge to bless kids overseas. This year their intrepid adult leaders were slimed, glittered and water-ballooned each day when the kids met their fundraising goals. As a result, Centerpoint kids raised nearly $1,500 to buy books for HA! kids.



Hope Alive!'s vision, which you'll hear more about in December, is to hold a book fair at each site and allow students to choose their own books, at their reading level and about topics that interest them, to take home. This is part of Hope Alive!'s ongoing efforts to promote literacy and strengthen the teaching of reading in the schools our HA! kids attend.
