Embracing Healing and Hope

At Hope Alive!, we are deeply committed to understanding and valuing the real-life experiences of fragile families in Uganda. We believe in addressing their challenges with empathy and support. Our dedicated Ugandan site staff actively engage with various community members to bring healing and hope into the lives of Hope Alive! students.

Understanding the complexities of broken relationships, especially with fathers and father figures, is crucial. Such experiences often impact how students perceive the love and care of God. To help address this, we partnered with Voice of Restoration International, an organization specializing in counseling, psychological support and mental health awareness. The team at Voice of Restoration International facilitated a session on overcoming rejection, and helped Hope Alive! provide a safe space for students to share their experiences with rejection and begin understanding and processing their complex emotions.

During this impactful session, students were reminded of the Lord's promises in Jeremiah 29:11, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” They were encouraged to find grace, to forgive those who have hurt them and to trust in Jesus, believing He has the best intentions for their lives. While some students took the brave step to forgive, others are not quite there yet; everyone is still on their journey to healing. We pray that the students of Hope Alive! may fully grasp the acceptance and profound love of Christ, regardless of the wounds they carry.
