From House to House, the Gospel Takes Root
"I was expecting a simple Easter celebration package, but I found a new purpose and understanding of God's love that He has towards me."
The staff and mentors at Hope Alive!'s Kyabakuza site have been approaching Easter as an opportunity to share Jesus with the families they serve. The team set out to evangelize with students and their families, embracing the season's message of hope and renewal. Rather than hosting a single event, they visited homes one by one with a simple goal: to create an environment where the gospel could be shared in an engaging and meaningful way.
The response was profound. At one home, three individuals embraced the message of salvation and gave their lives to Christ. Families who had expected a holiday visit instead encountered something they hadn't anticipated – a deeper understanding of the love Christ has for them.
For the Kyabakuza staff and mentors, this Easter outreach has reaffirmed the importance of sharing the gospel and the difference it makes when it's brought directly into people's lives. They are grateful for the opportunity to witness such transformation firsthand and are already looking forward to what God has in store for their community. Similar outreach programs are being planned for the future.
Those touched by the outreach have not been left to walk their new faith alone. The new believers have been invited to join the site's monthly caregiver discipleship groups, gatherings that have proven pivotal in supporting those who are new to faith and in strengthening the broader community of believers. The Kyabakuza site runs two groups: one for long-standing believers and one for caregivers who are new in their faith. Today, 43 caregivers are growing together in discipleship, a testament to what God continues to build in this community.
