From Shyness to Confidence--Meet Amua Law Phionah
From a quiet girl with a big heart to a woman boldly declaring her faith — meet Amua Law Phionah!
On graduation day, Phionah stood up and let the world know: Jesus is her Lord and Savior! Her Christian friends couldn’t hold back either — they broke into applause, praising God right in the middle of the ceremony.
It was a powerful moment, because everyone knew Phionah as a soft-spoken person, loving Jesus behind the scenes. But those who knew her best weren’t as surprised — they knew her heart and saw the way she lived her life.
Phionah joined Hope Alive at the age of 13. Her family of seven faced constant worries about school fees. But in her words, “The support I’ve received from Hope Alive! has been like a breath of fresh air.”
From paying for tuition and uniforms to hosting Saturday Club and Bible studies, Hope Alive! lifted a burden from her parents’ shoulders and planted seeds of faith in Phionah’s heart. “When I joined, I didn’t even know how to read the Bible,” she says. Now she shares her testimony with joy.
At 24, she graduated with a diploma in hotel and institutional catering — and she threw her own graduation party in Kampala to celebrate God’s goodness! She paid for it herself and expressed gratitude to her family, Aunt Carol, her mentors, and God.
We’re so proud of you, Phionah. Your journey reminds us that God sees, God provides, and God finishes what He starts.
