God Made a Way for Shamim and Shirat

When Shamim learned she was expecting a baby, she hoped for a future full of love and stability. Instead, the father left her alone. Heartbroken but determined, she chose to raise her daughter to the best of her ability.

Life was not easy. Shamim worked multiple jobs to feed and clothe her little girl, Shirat, and to keep her in school. There were many days when the worry felt overwhelming, Shamim would search through trash for scraps of food to keep her child from going hungry, a painful image of both desperation and steadfast love.

But God never forgot Shamim and Shirat.

In the midst of their struggle, He opened a door for them through Hope Alive!. Thanks to Shirat’s sponsor, her school fees are covered, food is provided at school, and mentors walk alongside them. Shamim and Shirat began to experience stability and hope again. Shamim’s work is now adequate to support their basic needs without her having to also pay for the cost of Shirat’s education.

Today, Shamim no longer worries about where the next meal will come from or how she’ll pay for Shirat’s education. She sees her daughter thriving and looks to the future with confidence, grateful for God’s provision through the support of the Hope Alive! community.

Shamim’s journey is a testimony to God’s faithfulness and the strength of a mother’s love. It reminds us that even in the darkest moments, Jesus meets families with hope and light, often through the hands and hearts of His people.
