"Man Up and Go" Part 3: Expanding the Vision to Kampala

A New Chapter for Man Up and Go

Building on the success in Koro (Gulu), the Man Up and Go program is expanding to the Kampala site. This new phase represents an exciting opportunity to reach even more men connected to Hope Alive! with the tools and training needed to succeed.

GJ Flikweert, a missionary who serves with Hope Alive!, relocated to Kampala in August after 7 years of living in Northern Uganda and will be overseeing the expansion. The program will continue its proven model, beginning with discipleship training to help men grow spiritually and take on leadership roles. The business training component will then equip them with the skills to start or expand businesses, fostering economic growth in their communities.

The potential impact in Kampala is immense. As Uganda’s largest city, Kampala is home to diverse challenges and opportunities. By empowering men to build businesses, strengthen their families, and serve their communities, the program can create a ripple effect of transformation.

How You Can Help

“Man Up and Go” is funded independently through the generous support of financial partners connected with GJ Flikweert, the program’s overseer. You can contribute through his sending organization or learn more by reaching out to GJ directly via email—he would love to hear from you!

Programs like “Man Up and Go” thrive thanks to the generosity of those who support Hope Alive!’s Strategic Partner Fund. This fund provides essential administrative support, organizational infrastructure, and accountability, creating a strong foundation for these initiatives. Without Strategic Partners, the ministry of Hope Alive! would not be possible. We invite you to explore how you can become a Strategic Partner and help foster sustainable change.

Together, we can cultivate a culture of hope, growth, and transformation.
