Where Love Lives: Staff and Volunteer Housing for Koch Lii
Hope Alive! is investing deeply in the remote and underserved community of Koch Lii in northern Uganda. Our new ministry center opened this year, but our staff and volunteers who serve there don't have a permanent place to live there...yet.
Currently, our staff regularly travel on dangerous and difficult roads to commute into the ministry site, as there are no viable housing options for them in Koch Lii. The team currently use the ministry center's future library and storage room as make-shift sleeping areas.
The transformational impact of Hope Alive! has always been seen most tangibly through the incredible team of staff and volunteers that live out the teachings of Jesus on a daily basis in the communities we serve. People like Winnie, Samuel, and Walter are trained, faithful and locally rooted staff who want and need to live in Koch Lii.
Hope Alive! is looking to construct eight staff homes in Koch Lii, complete with solar power, clean water, and garden space. A generous supporter has pledged up to $25,000 in matching funds--give now, and your donation will be doubled!
These missional homes will be the foundation for our mentors and staff to share the love of Jesus relationally, in the local context, and in the most holistic way.
Our goal is to raise funds to build homes for our dedicated staff and volunteers serving in Koch Lii. If we're fortunate enough to exceed that goal — or if unexpected circumstances prevent the project from moving forward — our board will ensure that every dollar is put to work in ways that stay true to our mission and the heart behind your gift.
