It's back-to-school season in Uganda, but for many families, the cost of fees, uniforms, supplies, and meals keeps children from going to school. We've identified 31 children who are eager to learn but lack the resources to attend. Sponsorship provides not just tuition, but meals, mentorship, discipleship, and family support, giving each child the chance to thrive holistically. This March, we're praying for one child to be sponsored each day. Will you be one of the 31?
That student will:
- Attend a local school. Through sponsorship, we pay 100% of tuition and many other academic necessities for as long as the student remains in the sponsorship program of Hope Alive!.
- Receive access to needs-based tutoring and academic support. Academically struggling students receive access to individualized academic support to help them reach their full potential.
- Join other Hope Alive! students at weekly Saturday Club for worship, Bible study, nutritious food, encouraging relationships, discussion of timely topics and FUN with mentors, staff and each other.
Their families will:
- Access programs and training opportunities designed to strengthen families and break generational cycles of poverty. Events at our sites gather students, families and alumni together to provide information and opportunities for personal and community development.
- Be invited to join a community savings group. Community savings groups encourage a culture of saving, as group members pool resources to create small businesses, build homes, send non-Hope Alive!-sponsored kids to school and more to help break cycles of generational economic poverty.
