What is a Mentor?

Mentors come to Hope Alive! through recommendations from partnering Ugandan churches. They have a deep passion to serve God, a love for children and youth, and a desire to walk with young people through the hardships of poverty and the challenges and joys of life in general.

Mentors live in the same areas as the students, enabling them to easily be part of the students’ lives. They check in on their students and families on a regular basis, sharing God's love, working through life's issues, and encouraging, counseling, and guiding the students they mentor.
